Supervisory level position responsible for 5-8 professional employees, including business and engineering professionals.
Direct technical and commercial responsibility for customer proposals resulting in $90 million - $120 million in annual bookings.
Daily collaboration with other functional departments, intercompany facilities, and corporate resources is required to successfully execute in the role.
Provide direction and leadership to a team of Sales Support Representatives and Application Engineers within the Lynchburg Commercial Operations team for the activities identified in the CO task RACI (appended) in order to support the sales and operations teams in the achievement of the annual financial and operational goals of the Flow Control Operation
Track the effectiveness of the quotation process, and at a minimum, perform reviews twice a year to determine specific ways to improve the quotation success rate and increase new business for the Flow Control Operation. Use key metrics as a primary mechanism for monitoring performance, driving effective execution and managing responsibilities.
Manage and support the administrative requirements of the business to ensure compliance with the departmental expense budget, headcount allocations and to all related FLS policies including Export Compliance, FCPA, the use of FLS standards, worldwide T&C’s, travel request approval process, commercial terms, pertinent quality program control requirements, and other similar initiatives as directed by Flowserve Commercial Operations management.
Support the Lynchburg site CO Manager in attracting, identifying, developing and retaining organizational talent in an ongoing effort to support talent management philosophy with respect to our FCO Commercial Operations Group. This includes all facets of talent acquisition, performance management, succession planning, and employee learning and development.
Continually evaluate resource needs and prioritize work so that the short term and long term needs are met. Review the workload of applicable CO members to ensure the business resources reflect current market conditions and demand.
4-year degree in an engineering or business related field.
2 years of experience reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts for engineered products.
Demonstrated business acumen and basic understanding of a financial profit and loss statement and balance sheet.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
Demonstrated success in managing teams
Related commercial or technical experience for engineered automation or valve products.
CIP Green Belt training or Lean Manufacturing experience.
