Position Description:

  • Define the procurement and materials management strategy (3-years plan)

  • Identify new sourcing capabilities and suppliers while rationalizing/simplifying the current suppliers portfolio in conjunction with QA & QC

  • Optimizing the use of low cost countries supply base and developing it further in order to make sure that Quality and OTD are kept in line with the expected standards

  • Achieve the targeted results in terms of KPIs (Quality-OTD-costs)

  • Establish long term and successful agreements with procurement and supply chain partners

  • Play an active role as Supply Chain Expert on CIP and Product Development task forces

  • Support Comm Ops Team during offer preparation stage with reliable materials cost/OTD estimates

  • Define the proper budget estimates for bid processing

  • Manage promptly and in a cost effective way the urgent purchases requests that are usually caused by job reviews due to customers specs variation

  • Analyze and review the purchasing processes and procedures in accordance with Corp guidelines in order to achieve best-in-class performance (quality, OTD and cost)

  • Lead with a strong excellence orientation a team of buyer and expeditors in order to hit the short and long term targets

  • Constantly monitor the market for reliable lead time estimation and standard costs definition (selling list)

  • Cultivate solid and trusted relationships at all levels internally and externally (HQ, Quality, Engineering, Costing, Manufacturing and Comm Ops locally, suppliers and shipping companies internationally)

  • Collaborate with On/Off Business Group, Flowserve Commodity Management and Regional Supply Chain teams in India and China to develop advantaged supplier capability to serve all Valbart product line manufacturing locations – Italy, USA, China, India and others that may arise

  • Support and challenge Engineering/Product Management in assuring “should cost” supplies for all new product developments and exploit VAVE (value analysis – value engineering) programmes on existing products

  • Be a strong member of the Valbart & LFPS business management teams

Position Requirements:

  • Master degree in Engineering preferred

  • At least 10 years of experience in supply chain with a strong focus on procurement/purchasing

  • Solid experience as people leader and coach

  • Strong negotiation and communication skills

  • Results driven

  • Continuous improvement approach

  • Utmost integrity

  • Fluent Business English (a third language as Chinese would be a plus)

  • SAP strong knowledge

  • Business travels % of time estimated: 40%
