Position Description:

This role will beresponsible for the procurement of various categories of direct materials forboth complete units of pumps and parts for the aftermarket business. Drivesupplier performance to provide high quality parts and achieve the on-timedelivery goals for the plant. This position will be required to effectivelynegotiate best price and lead-times from the suppliers to meet the cost savingstargets for the purchasing function and the financial goals of the plant. Workwith the material planning group to drive and maintain right levels ofinventory to prevent stock outs and excess inventory.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process and submitpurchase orders to suppliers for assigned parts/categories based on signalsfrom Oracle ERP Advanced Supply Chain Planning module

  • Evaluates requisitionsfor correctness, selects the best supplier for the order, applies correctpricing, and takes into consideration any quality problems that may have arisensince the last purchase.

  • Maintains currentschedule dates on all purchase orders. Manage Oracle ASCP exception reports forCancellation, Reschedule-in and Reschedule-out.

  • Manage RFQ (requestfor quote) activities for assigned parts/commodities

  • Establishes andmaintains competitive pricing for all purchased parts and services. Negotiate supplierpricing. Source and develop new suppliers as needed

  • Reviews PPV data atthe beginning of each month for the previous month’s receipts to explain anydifferences, positive or negative. Support facility and global material savingsobjectives.

  • Manage all Oraclemaster data for assigned parts/commodities

  • Partner with AccountsPayable to resolve payment issues

  • Partner with ReceivingDepartment to resolve purchase order issues delaying receipts

  • Reconcile allpurchasing issues for assigned parts/categories

  • Manage supplierscorecard for assigned suppliers and coordinate supplier continuous improvementand development initiatives

  • Partner with GlobalSupply Chain team on key corporate supply chain initiatives.

  • Analyze and interpretdata in order to make sound purchasing decisions

  • Manages inventorylevels by controlling material receipts, reducing slow moving inventory andprocessing deviations and substitutions.

  • Develops and maintainsrelationships with suppliers by hosting supplier visits at FLS and makingnecessary supplier visits.

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Engineering,

Manufacturing or equivalent experience.

  • Basic ability to

interpret engineering drawings, specifications and standards in order to

clearly communicate requirements

  • Ability to lead

project teams when required

  • Demonstrated skills in

Microsoft Office, specifically in Excel

  • Excellent

communication, organization, negotiation and prioritization skills

  • Travel - 10%

Preferences:

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment

  • Previous experience with an ERP system.
