Position Description:

Principal Accountabilities

As a direct report to the Manager, Accounting Policies and Practices, the Senior Accounting Policy Analyst is responsible for providing the necessary support to the accounting policies and practices function. Specific responsibilities of the Senior Accounting Policy Analyst include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Assist in the development of new accounting policies and review/update existing polices

• Research and respond to accounting and policy questions from Corporate, Platform and Site personnel

• Prepare and present accounting policy training webinars

• Review released and proposed Accounting Standards Updates (ASUs) and assist in the determination of the applicability to Flowserve

• Assist in the determining the technical impact and practical application of ASC 842 - Leases

• Assist with interim and year-end asset impairment testing and preparation of related documentation

• Assist with quarterly (Form 10-Q) and annual (Form 10-K) external financial reporting, including preparation of footnotes

• Prepare ad-hoc analysis and participate in special projects, as requested

Position Requirements:


• Bachelors degree in accounting

• 3 - 4 years’ experience auditing public companies or a combination of 3 - 4 years’ experience auditing public companies and related industry experience

• Strong technical accounting and research skills including, but not limited to, knowledge of accounting for revenue recognition, leases, intangible assets and currency translation

• Attention to detail and accuracy with the ability to package and present complex information in an effective and efficient manner

• Strong oral and written communication skills

• Able to multi-task in high pressure, time-constrained situations

• CPA or CPA candidate working toward certification

• Strong PC skills including Windows and Microsoft Office products, especially PowerPoint, Word, SharePoint and Excel

• Knowledge of SAP BPC is preferred but not required

• Able to work autonomously; judgment to involve Manager when needed

• Able to work extended, non-traditional hours as needed during peak periods such as quarter-end and year-end reporting
