Position Requirements:


· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance

· Five years or more of experience in cost accounting in a manufacturing environment

· Ability to apply knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles & Cost Accounting Standards

· Must be able to adapt to new and different computer programs and software to enable efficient data gathering and analysis

· Ability to research, compile, analyze and interpret data

· Good written, verbal communication and collaborative skills

· Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office products

· Strong organizational and communicational skills

Position Description:

Sr. Cost Accountant

Position Description

The Sr. Cost Accountant provides support and timely reporting for the NA Parts Organization. This position is primarily responsible for managing and analyzing job cost closeouts as well as ensuring a timely month end close process. This position will be responsible for margin analysis, job cost closeout reviews, variance, and expense analysis. The position also performs ad hoc projects for the NA Parts Finance group and assists with day to day operations.


· Review and analyze inventory and margin reports, conduct research and perform analytical studies in regards to cost analyses and profitability

· Ensure timely submission, accuracy and validity of inventory, gross margin schedules to management

· Assist in month-end closing, prepare journal entries as necessary, analyze inventory evaluation, inventory roll forward including obsolete inventory

· Approve daily cycle counts and physical inventories

· Support and assist internal department reporting requirements

· Review of fully burdened labor rate and material burden rate variances, including yearly recalculation of all burden rates to be used

· Monthly preparation and review of all responsible balance sheet account reconciliations

· Participation in regular performance, monitoring and testing of all SOX controls, as well as assist in External and Internal Audits.

· Work in special projects as required
